Rory Wolfe presented the Monash SPHPM Head of School Excellence award
Congratulations to Rory on receiving the 2021 Head of School Excellence award at the Monash University School of Public Health and Preventive Medicine annual awards day.
The award recognises Rory’s significant research and leadership contributions within the school, including his ongoing work with multidisciplinary teams both within and the school and beyond.
Since commencing at the school in 2000, Rory has shown strong leadership in the development of novel methodology for the design and analysis of clinical trials, particularly focussing on areas such as missing data in risk prediction models, joint modelling of mortality and cognitive decline, and applications of propensity scoring methods; as well as supervision and mentorship of PhD students and EMCRs within the Biostatistics unit. He has been a member of the Executive Committee of ViCBiostat since the centre’s establishment in 2012, and now also leads the Australian Trials Methodology (AusTriM) Centre of Research Excellence (2019-2024).
Rory applies his expertise across a number of trials and research centres within the school, predominantly as a lead investigator on the Aspirin in Preventing Events in the Elderly (ASPREE, ASPREE-XT, and associated sub-studies) studies, and the Melanoma and Skin Cancer (MASC) trials consortium. He is also the Statistics Director of the newly established Monash University Clinical Trials Centre (MUCTC).
Congratulations Rory!
