John Carlin awarded Pitman Medal by the SSA
John Carlin was awarded the prestigious Pitman Medal by the Statistical Society of Australia, which recognises outstanding achievement in, and contribution to, the discipline of statistics.
Throughout his career, John has made enormous contributions to the discipline of statistics in all areas: methodological advances, impactful and high-quality collaborative research, and training and fostering the next generation of biostatisticians. In particular, John was one of the founding members of ViCBiostat, as well as the Biostatistics Collaboration of Australia (BCA), the first biostatistics degree at a Masters level.
