Congratulations Dr Parinaz Mehdipour
Congratulations to Parinaz who has received the final confirmation letter for her PhD titled “Determining effective and safe treatments for vivax malaria using a modelling and simulation framework”. Parinaz was supervised by Julie Simpson (primary), Rob Commons, Sophie Zaloumis, Saber Dini and James Watson.
Prior to undertaking her PhD, she was a biostatistician focusing on Bayesian statistical models, Gaussian process regression and spatio-temporal models on longitudinal population-based data at the Non-Communicable Diseases Research Center affiliated to Tehran University of Medical Sciences.
Parinaz will continue her involvement in the ViCBiostat network as she works with David Price on a seed funding project for identifying sufficient data to infer the total parasite biomass using a statistical framework, though her primary appointment is now at the Perinatal Epidemiology group (Mercy Hospital) as a Data Scientist - Biostatistics.
